Envelope Calligraphy Policies

Pricing for calligraphy addressing is $4.50 per outer envelope and $2.00 per inner envelope. I offer a few variations on classic copperplate and modern scripts, we can find the style that best suits your invitation. If light cannot pass through your envelopes because they are a dark paper, or are lined, the price is $1 higher per envelope. Black, white and gold ink are standard, there is a $50 fee to mix custom ink colors. Heavily flourished calligraphy is 50-cents more per envelope. Addresses over four lines are an additional 50-cents per line, per envelope. Other add-on services include $2.00 per envelope to assemble and ship and 25-cents per stamp to apply postage (in addition to cost of postage, please inquire if you are interested in me creating a custom vintage postage set to complement your invitation). A non-refundable deposit of 40% of your estimated total is due to reserve calligraphy services. The remainder is due when the envelopes are finished. Shipping charges will be added to your final total. Please plan on providing at least 20% additional envelopes to allow for human error/add-ons. Turn around time is approximately 1 week per 100 envelopes, with additional time for add-on services. Rush orders will incur an additional charge of 25% - 50% of your total order, fee depends on my availability and the requested turnaround time.

 

I will need an address list showing the addresses EXACTLY as you want them to appear on the envelope. Please indicate if you do not want to follow standard etiquette guidelines. If you need assistance with addressing etiquette I can provide guidance. If you are doing inner envelopes, please list how you would like them addressed in a separate line. I prefer two columns of center-justified text in at least 12 point font in a word processing file, like this example:

Please, no spreadsheets. If I need to re-format your guest list the fee for the time required will be $50/hour. All guest lists must be final. Changes and additions will incur a $25 fee + cost of service.
